PokémonGoing Crazy

When this awesome teaser came out last year, I couldn't wait for Pokémon Go to be released. The anime used to dominate my middle-school years and I remember pouring hundreds of hours into Pokémon Red and Pokémon Gold, playing both so much that I eventually wore out their cartridges.

Harry Potter: The Exhibition

Earlier this summer I checked out the Harry Potter exhibition in Brussels. As a devoted Potterhead I simply couldn't miss it!

"When spares are spared, when time is turned, when unseen children murder their fathers: then will the Dark Lord return"

I'm a Potterhead, always have been, always will. That's why I was over the moon when Sarah brought home Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (2016) for me to read. The book is in fact the rehearsal script of the same-titled two-part West End stage play, set nineteen years af the events of Harry Pottery and the Deathly Hallows. The story follows Harry Potter and his younger son Albus Severus Potter.

"Maybe it was a mistake so big that my family would be paying for it forever"

I just finished reading When I Was The Greatest (2014) by Jason Reynolds. I had it laying around since Christmas (thanks Katrien!), but I only recently found the time to dive in. The book came to me via BuzzFeed's 21 Books Everyone Needs To Read Before They Die listicle. Also on that list are Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird and J.K. Rowling's entire Harry Potter series.

12 Years A Slave

And so two years later, I deliver

Independence Day: Resurgence

I recently checked out Independence Day: Resurgence (2016), the sequel to  Roland Emmerich's Independence Day (1996) starring the then up-and-coming Will Smith. His cigar-smoking, alien-killing alter ego made me fall in love with the original, so naturally I was very excited for a follow-up to one of my childhood classics. No Will Smith in Independence Day: Resurgence, though: it was made clear early on via the movie's promotional website that Smith's character would not be returning.

Suicide Squad

A while ago I checked out Suicide Squad (2016) with the Captain America to my Ant-Man, the Ricky Bobby to my Cal Naughton Jr., the Chazz Michael Michaels to my Jimmy MacElroy, aka my former bro-worker Philippe. I had heard some not-so-positive reviews, but the teasers looked awesome, my celebrity crush Cara Delevingne is in it, and I was very curious about Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn and Jared Leto's Joker. So much has been written about the latter's dedication to the role that I couldn't help but wonder if his performance would compare to Heath Ledger's.
