"When someone is in your heart, they're never truly gone"

For One More Day by Mitch Albom

I just used Easter Monday morning to finish reading For One More Day (2006) by Tuesdays With Morrie author Mitch Albom. The book was featured on Buzzfeed's 51 Books That Prove Reading Can Change Your Life listicle, immediately piquing my interest with its premise. What would it be like if you could hang out with a deceased loved one for one more day? We all yearn for a chance to make good with lost relatives, to explain family secrets, and to seek forgiveness.

"I'm not normal"

The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins

This week I finished reading The Girl On The Train (2015) by British autor Paula Hawkins, who tried romantic comedy fiction before trying some darker stuff. She wrote the book over the course of six months, achieving almost instant commercial breakthrough by debuting at No. 1 on The New York Times Fiction Best Sellers of 2015 list, remaining in the top position for 13 consecutive weeks. I found the book via Tumblr and I was immediately drawn to the title and the cover. The movie rights to The Girl On The Train were acquired by DreamWorks Pictures in 2014. The movie is slated for an October release and will star Emily Blunt as Rachel Watson.

"Did you think this book was funny? Why or why not?"

B.J. Novak - One More Thing

I recently read One More Thing: Stories and Other Stories (2014) by American actor, comedian, screenwriter and director B.J. Novak. You probably know him as Ryan 'The Temp' Howard from The Office or Smithson 'The Litte Man' Utivic from Inglorious Basterds. Talk about range. I stumbled upon his book via Buzzfeed's 35 Hilarious Books Guaranteed To Make You Laugh Out Loud listicle, in the wonderful company The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Tina Fey's Bossypants and Catch-22, which I all enjoyed, so naturally I had to read it. How else would I find out what happened to the boy who wins a $100,000 prize in a cereal box?

Fuller House

Fuller House

On Friday I watched Fuller House, the Netflix sequel to landmark sitcom Full House, which ran from 1987 through 1995, broadcasting eight seasons and 192 episodes.
