"Nothing before you counts. And I can't even imagine an after."

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
"Mondays were the best"
I just finished reading Eleanor & Park (2013) by Fangirl author Rainbow Rowell. The book was a Christmas present from my Mom (thanks, Mom!), but I hadn't got around to it yet. How I stumbled upon Rowell's YA tearjerker? Simple: a Google search for "If you like John Green you might like" showed me that, just like The Book Thief and Thirteen Reasons Why, Eleanor & Park would scratch my Nerdfighter itch.

Road Trip: taking suggestions

Road trip - USA East Coast
Unleash the fury!
After talking about it for several years, me and Sarah have at long last pulled the trigger on making a road trip along the East Coast in 2016. As diehard Americanophiles (that's a thing!) we couldn't be more excited about the idea, and watching it come to life is a thing of American beauty.

Interstellar by Christopher Nolan
Cool story bro
With an exhausting (but fruitful) week in the rearview mirror, I wanted nothing more than to unwind, overeat a bit, and maybe watch a movie. When my movie-crazed sister Margot and Disney-crazed brother Marlon suggested we watch Interstellar, I happily obliged. Sarah was out for the night, I remember having heard great things about the Christopher Nolan vehicle, and a reunion of siblings in the new apartment is always a good idea. Bring on the space and stuff!

If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things by Jon McGregor
"Ignored and lost and thrown away"
BuzzFeed's 51 Books That Prove Reading Can Change Your Life listicle is a never-ending source of inspiration. I'm systematically tackling the list, which also contains The Catcher in the RyeThe Last Continent, The Hunger Games series, the Harry Potter series, The Book Thief and It's Kind of A Funny Story, and this time it was up to Jon McGregor's If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things (2002) to step up to the plate. I had never read anything by McGregor, but the quote in the article convinced me enough.

2014-2015 NBA Awards Picks

NBA Awards 2014-2015

It's that time of the year again.

The season is in the books and the Playoffs are just around the corner, meaning that its time NBA bloggers all around the world to unveil their ballots. I was 3-for-6 in 2013-2014, 2-for-6 in 2012-2013, and 3-for-6 in 2011-2012. My gut feeling tells me that I have a clean sweep on my hands this time around.
