22 Jump Street

22 Jump Street by Chris Miller
Tearing those annals up
This weekend I watched 22 Jump Street (2014) by 21 Jump Street directors Christopher Miller and Phil Lord. The movie had been on my bucket list for a while now, because A) The Wolf of Wall Street actor Jonah Hill is hi-larious (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek, The Sitter, anyone?), and B) Hill and Mr. Jenna Dewan aka Channing Tatum work really well together comedically.

"That's where you mostly get geography, outside"

The Last Continent by Terry Pratchett
No worries
When I'm looking for reading inspiration, I often turn to BuzzFeed listicles. A new one I recently discovered is 51 Books That Prove Reading Can Change Your Life. It's a list compiled of books that have helped members of the BuzzFeed Community through hard times, and somehow Terry Pratchett's The Last Continent (1998) had a magnetic pull on me. The description promised 'a dose of escapism and a true laugh', which is exactly my sort of thing.

Sex Tape

Sex Tape (2014) by Jake Kasdan
Best. Idea. Ever.
Last night I watched Sex Tape (2014) by Bad Teacher director Jake Kasdan. From the trailer I deducted that this was just your run-of-the-mill sex comedy, even if it had some scenes that were painfully relevant to the whole Fappening fiasco.

Horrible Bosses 2

Horrible Bosses 2 (2014)by Sean Anders
Kidnaping and stuff
Last night I watched Horrible Bosses 2 (2014), the sequel to 2011's Horrible Bosses in which Nick (Couples Retreat actor Jason Bateman), Kurt (Mr. Olivia Wilde/SNL alumn Jason Sudeikis) and Dale (It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia actor Charlie Day) tried to murder their abusive bosses. The trailer looked funny, the weather outside was frightful, my gurl needed a study break, I had two cinema tickets laying around (Thanks, step bro Anthony!) ... You get the jist: the world wanted me to see this movie.

Boston Celtics add to their treasure trove of assets

Boston trades Jeff Green to Memphis - January 2015
Green is gone
When the Boston Celtics shipped franchise point guard Rajon Rondo to the Dallas Mavericks in December, it became succinctly clear that GM Danny Ainge was serious about stripping the roster.

"Dinosaurs don't fit existing categories"

Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton
Chaos and all that
I just finished rereading Michael Crichton's 1990 science faction classic Jurassic Park. It had been a while since I last read it, but I absolutely wanted to go through the book again for two reasons:
